Hockey Fans

We love hockey fans at Kalamazoo Orthodontics (most of them anyway . . . ). We think these two KO smiles elected to pose in front of our "Red Wings stuff" only to irritate Dr. Bowman who is a St. Louis Blues fan OR maybe, just maybe they really like Detroit. Kyle Weissner finished his first phase of braces and Sydney Clifton's new smile was created with  Invisalign TEEN

Smiling Face Through the Glass

I see a smiling face through that glass!  We are in our Kalamazoo location today (corner of Gull and Sprinkle Roads).  Susan, one of our Treatment Coordinators, is standing by the phones, waiting for your call, so that you can make an appointment for a complimentary evaluation--the first step on the journey towards a beautiful new smile.

Welcome (Back) Cori!

Welcome (back) Cori to Kalamazoo Orthodontics!

Hello, my name is Cori and I’m one of the newest members of Kalamazoo Orthodontics “bracing” team, but that doesn’t mean I’m new to orthodontics!

In fact, I have 6 years of experience in the dental field with nearly 3 years working in orthodontics.  I really enjoy orthodontics as watching our patients smiles be transformed from start to finish is the most rewarding aspect.  I love interacting with our patient on a daily basis and getting to know them during their new smile journey.  I feel very honored to be working for such a knowledgeable doctor.

Over the years, Dr. Bowman’s accomplishment in the orthodontic field keep growing and I’m happy to say that I have enjoyed my own KO smile for many, many years since I had braces with Dr. Bowman, too!

I was born and raised right here in Portage and graduated from Portage Central.  In my free time, I enjoy being with my friends, family, and my love, Jake.  I love to travel-even just small day trips-and trying new restaurants along the way.  I also enjoy camping in the summer and being outdoors as much as possible.

We're lucky to have Cori on Team KO and she certainly has a lovely smile that was created right here, too.

Influencer

Influencer. It is satisfying to see orthodontic inventions created by Dr. Bowman be modified and used in innovative manners as published in two articles in recent months (Journal of Clinical Orthodontics).
The Kilroy Spring II was modified by members of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, KGMU in India. In addition, Dr. Bowman's Ulysses Extrusion Spring for miniscrews was adapted for impacted canines by workers at Mashhad University in Iran.

Moyers Symposium

Dr. Bowman spent the past weekend attending the 40th Moyers Symposium at The University of Michigan. The topic this year for the presenters was Interdisciplinary Therapy: Using Contemporary Approaches for Complex Cases. This meeting has always drawn international speakers and attendees from a variety of healthcare disciplines but especially orthodontics. It was great to catch-up with good friend, Dr. Mithran Goonewardene from The University of Western Australia in Perth, who was the opening speaker for the symposium.

Horse Tale

Here is a great picture of Brittany Ebbitt and her horse, Magic, taken before she got started with her braces at Kalamazoo Orthodontics. We are excited to see her new smile develop during her orthodontic treatment.

KO patients are always welcome to share their pictures with us or post them on our Instagram page, too!

Textbook Review

A very nice review of Ki Beom Kim's new textbook was just published in the American Journal of Orthodontics.

Dr. Bowman was honored to have been asked to contribute a chapter entitled, "Settling the Score with Class IIs," to Ki's book.
