Milton Sims Visiting Professor

Dr. S. Jay Bowman was honored to serve as a Milton Sims Visiting Professor at the University of Adelaide Orthodontic Residency in South Australia. The Milton Sims Visiting Professor Program was established by Adelaide Orthodontic Alumni Research and Education Foundation in memory of Professor Milton Sims after decades of teaching orthodontics as head of department. In addition to lecturing, Dr. Bowman also worked as an External Examiner of the orthodontic postgraduate students.

Angle Research Prize

The Angle Research Prize celebrates its 25th anniversary. This honor is awarded every other year for the best research paper published in The Angle Orthodontist. Drs. Jay Bowman and Lysle Johnston received this distinction in 2001.

My Dad, Dr. J.A. Bowman who practiced medicine for over 30 years in Abingdon, IL, was featured in the February, 1935 issue of Modern Mechanix and Inventions.  He and some classmates were featured in an article on “Learning Circus Stunts at College” as part of the Interscholastic Circus at U of I.  He is depicted in the article on the top of a ladder as he learned to walk up the rungs while balancing.

Digital “impressions” of teeth without the goopy or gaggy stuff is especially beneficial for patients for precision Invisalign records. #IteroIntraoralScanner

The 2nd publication from Kalamazoo Orthodontics - Dr. S. Jay Bowman's clinical research on the effects of vibration on tooth movement appeared in the November issue of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
