Proud of Corrina!
Sturgis boys won last night's track meet against Three Rivers, but the Girls help make a lasting memory for Three Rivers' Corinna Tompkins. Yet another example of how compassionate our SPS students are.....great job being leaders that other kids can look up to!
Excerpt from the Sturgis Journal on 5/11/16:
For the Lady Wildcats, Corrina Tompkins won her heat at :30.94.
“Seeing the smile on her (Corrina) face as she is running down the track to capture the win was priceless. Corrina is always happy and loves running the 100-meter dash regardless if she finished first or last,” three Rivers coach James Phillips said. “Tonight she appeared to be just ecstatic after winning the 100.
“Moments like that are what makes the opportunity to coach any sport so great,” Phillips added. “Many thanks to all my athletes, Sturgis’ athletes and coach (Emerson) Green from Sturgis for helping to ensure that Corrina notices how much she means to our team and school.”

Speaker for the American Association of Orthodontists
Dr. Bowman was honored to be invited as a speaker for the 117th American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session. He discussed the results of our clinical research on the effects of vibration to stimulate orthodontic tooth movement. Special thanks to Dr. Kenji Ojima from Tokyo for providing some photos he had taken during Dr. Bowman’s presentation.

Q: I would like you to comment on
the in vivo clinical effectiveness of such products which you have been
studying along with Dr. S. Jay Bowman, one of the greatest names in world
Orthodontics. What should we expect from a near future? What are the most
recent evidences concerning remineralization of white spots on the enamel after
orthodontic treatment?
A: I am glad you have mentioned Dr.
Jay Bowman's name. I thank him because we started on this line of research
after he went to the 1st Dental Press International Congress, held in the city
of Maringá, in 2001, during which he instigated us to research about the
effects of fluoride varnish. From that point onwards, we developed many in
vitro, in situ and in vivo researches with fluoride materials, aiming at
lessening the negative effects of demineralization caused during the use of
fixed appliances.
