Elementary School Tiger Trek Special Guest: Lindsay Tarpley – Two Time Olympic
Gold Medalist
Tiger Trek is the PTA’s Major
Fundraiser of the school year and is an all school Run/Walk-A-Thon. Tiger Trek Guest of Honor was two-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Women’s
Soccer-Lindsay Tarpley. Lindsay attended Amberly Elementary School and as a
student had a dream to play in the Olympics. Her dream became a reality by
winning a gold medal in both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games.
Kalamazoo mascots were also on hand to
encourage the participants: Slappy from
the Kalamazoo Wings and Porter from the Kalamazoo Growlers. Kalamazoo Orthodontics’ patient, Matthew King
and his Dad, Thomas, were some of the participants in this event.
